Supporting Aviation's Growth for the next Decade: A Call to Action in the Asia-Pacific
The Asia-Pacific region is set to lead global aviation growth. In the next twenty years, it is expected to handle more than half of all passenger traffic worldwide. This rapid change creates both opportunities and challenges for maintenance, repair, and overhaul. The IATA Asia-Pacific alone includes 49 countries over 8 time zones, each with different levels of aviation development and infrastructure. This creates a complex environment that needs teamwork to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
In this session, Mr Hee will discuss the key strategies needed to move MRO forward in this fast-changing market. Specifically, we will examine what is required for aviation ecosystem players, including MRO stakeholders, airlines, service providers, regulators, and technology partners, to strengthen supply chains, use new maintenance methods, and help aviation grow safely in all markets.
Key topics include addressing supply chain visibility through the value of data and digitalisation; expanding MRO capacity and supply of parts to support rapid fleet growth and growing requirements for shop visits and maintenance; exploiting technology and AI to better predict demand and flag shortages; and addressing manpower requirements.
